The Jets have landed...New Orleans parties!

Jets vs. Colts

You didn't actually think they were gonna win, did you? I mean c'mon, they're still the Jets. No matter who the coach is, how good the running game is, or how incredible the defense is, they're still the Jets! And as I predicted they would, the Indianapolis Colts ended the magical flight of the Jets, yesterday, by a score of 30-17. In the end, there was just too much Peyton Manning, and it's nearly impossible to stop the greatest quarterback of all time, even with the number one ranked defense in the league.

The Jets did what they've done to their fans so many times before, teasing the fans with thoughts of victory, only to have an eleven point lead diminish before our eyes. Unfortunately, because of the Jet loss, Noah Siegel will not be flying down to Miami to watch the Super Bowl (there's your shout out, Noah) along with thousands of other New Yorkers and New Jerseyans who were hoping to escape the dread and misery that is winter in the tri-state area. Thoughts of Miami were as strong as ever when Mark Sanchez threw a perfect nine yard touchdown pass to Dustin Keller, and the Jets had a 17-6 lead, but in an instant, Manning drove the Colts down the field leading to a 16 yard TD strike to Austin Collie. Momentum had swung to the Colts heading into halftime, and the Colts never gave it back, dominating the second half 17-0.

When it's all said and done, Jet fans should be very happy, for they were lucky to even be in the playoffs. Realistic expectations for the Jets this season were not to win a Super Bowl, they weren't even expected to come close, and leading at halftime in the AFC Championship game is pretty damn close. There's always next year.

Saints vs. Vikings

I am so happy that the Saints won this game. Not only did I pick them, (by the way I was 2-0 this
weekend, which brings my playoff picking record to 6-4) but how can you not root for a team that plays in a city that is still rebuilding from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina? The Superdome was flooded and housing Katrina victims just about four and a half years ago, yesterday the Superdome was the site of the biggest party in the history of New Orleans. New Orleans is a city that knows how to party, and if the Saints win the Super Bowl, all hell will break lose on Bourbon Street.

Also, I love to see Brett Favre lose. He made such a stupid throw at the end, and Favre deserved to lose that game. He is the most overrated athlete in the history of sports, period. Now there will be another annoying offseason where the question of Favre coming back will the number one story all summer. I hope he doesn't come back and his last throw is an interception, because interceptions really sum up his career in a nutshell, he threw 317 of them, in the regular season alone.

So the Super Bowl will be the Saints vs. the Colts and I think it's pretty safe to say, it's going to be high scoring.
